Surfers are rating the GoPro Hero2 Highly

I bet a couple of years ago nobody would have thought they would have actually be surfing with a camera stuck on their boards, which is able to take high quality shots, capturing a lot of the action. Of course, there have been a couple of cameras that have come onto the market and surfers have raised eyebrows, but at the end of the day these are made of plastic and they are nothing much to write home about. They either get lost or broken or they don’t produce any quality.

I really think the GoPro has produced the goods here with it’s wide angled lens which is able to capture so much. This was the other problem with most cameras which you perched on your board. You had to get the angle and position exactly right in order to achieve what you were looking for. It’s not always easy to pull that off. It’ s like setting up a tripod without having the proper equipment. Most of the time you will see the blue ocean with a tiny speck which is meant to be your board zig zagging it’s way through the waves.

The GoPro surf edition has a solid structure and this you can tell just by looking at it. There is not a chance of a drop of water slipping in here. The other thing which the second version has improved upon is the mount of the camera. When GoPro came out with the first camera it was a huge hit, but surfers still found that the mount was a little unsturdy and when you are surfing in a massive ocean this is the first thing you want to get right. I have a lot more confidence in the second version because the mount is more solid and in addition to that there is a leash which secures the camera to the board. This just gives you that extra bit of confidence.

Another thing to add in the favor of the company is the software which is easy enough to get the hang of. It won’t be long until you can get the images onto your HDTV and show your family and friends your new moves. This is actually a great way of improving your skills. After all, this is what pro athletes do. By watching yourself perform and watching out for the mistakes you can really get to the next level in no time. A Surfing Camera with a difference

I love photography, but I also love to surf. Obviously you can’t do both at the same time unless you are some kind of champ like Kelly Slater who can hold his daughter as he goes surfing across a wave.  I thought my problems were solved when I came across a surf camera, but that was no good because you could just see it was going to break. This was a tiny camera and the quality was not great. My next camera got lost in the ocean as soon as I wiped out.

I came across the GoPro a little while ago and I was a little weary since I had been through so many cameras. However, this camera turned out to be something that really produced the goods. The GoPro Hero2 Surf Edition is an upgrade and this time the company have improved on the mount and added a leash which secures it on your board. With this in place you can be a lot more confident that your camera is not going go flying the next time you hit a big wave and your board drifts under you.

The thing I like about the GoPro is the wide angled lens. This is able to capture a lot more than my foot against the ocean. The quality is really superb and with the easy-to-use software you can get this on to your HDTV very quickly, showing your latest moves off to all of your friends.

Most people usually worry about how solid it can be in conditions like this, but you just have to compare this model to something we used to get a couple of years to see the difference. This is housed in a solid casing so no water is going to get in, but you will also find that if you should scrape against a rock, as surfers do, then you will be safe because it can handle this.

Some people have said that it is not appropriate for a short board. For people who are concentrating on going to the next level and looking to master their aerials then this is not something you will want to invest in because it will add a couple more grams onto your board that you are not looking for. For the surfer who is out for some fun in the sun, which is most of us, this is would be the camera which would do the job.

Wedding Photography- Documenting the Big Day

If you examine wedding pictures from the days of yore, youll find that wedding photography consisted of little more than taking a couple of formal portraits of the bridal couple and their entourage. This was in keeping with the character of photography in the past. People had their pictures taken in the same way that they used to have portraits painted before the invention of the camera. Images of themselves were formal keepsakes that they dressed up for. When you gave someone a picture of yourself back then it was really special.

As time passed, photographs became easier to acquire and wedding photography changed accordingly. By the 1970s, a photo journalistic style had emerged which involved documenting a wedding as an event rather than just taking shots of a series of romantic or formal poses. Contemporary wedding photography generally requires both traditional formal portraits and documentation of the events as they happen. If youre a wedding photographer, here are some ideas to keep in mind while working.

First of all, you should have some kind of shot list to work from. There are shots of the preparations as well as the ceremony that the couple will expect to see in their album. For the preparations, these include pictures of the gown on a dress form, pictures of the rings and the bouquets, as well as shots of the bride getting dressed and surrounded by her attendants.

Its also customary to take pictures of the groom getting ready as well. At the ceremony, youll be expected to take pictures of the bride arriving in the bridal car, the walk down the aisle and the first kiss. Remember that you wont have much time to capture these must-have shots. Wedding photography requires you to be alert at all times.

You should be able to anticipate when a photogenic moment will happen and take advantage of the opportunity. These reflexes take time and experience to develop, but being familiar with the ceremony and the venue will be a big help. Its also important in wedding photography not to be a nuisance to the bridal couple. They want their pictures, but they also want to focus on the special moments that make up one of the most important days of their lives.

Make sure you dont act like the paparazzi; give them space and allow those uniquely beautiful moments to unfold naturally. Take advantage of relaxed moments to get many spontaneous, story-filled shots as well.
